Obviously no two pairs of feet are alike, but I m hoping others can learn from my experience, which is that it s far better to buy shoes that are slightly big than slightly small, at least if you have wide feet. I usually wear an 11 but ordered these in a 10.5 as recommended by Danner on their product page for these, which states, Please note the South Rim 600 fits slightly large and we recommend sizing down a half size for best fit. Out of the box, the 10.5 seemed to fit fine, which is to say they passed the highly unscientific walk around the living room test with flying colors. Encouraged, I wore them to work the next day and they felt fine until I got on the train after work and it felt like someone was slowly tightening a vise on my tarsals. It hurt so bad I almost had to take them off on the train, but I didn t want to look like a crazy person so I endured.
