Customer reviewsNice big and well made with good balance -- but heavy
Open measures 8 3 4 x 1 1 4 x 3 8 without clip. Reverse tanto blade is made of 7Cr17MoV with black laser etching measuring 3 3 4 x 1 1 4 x 1 8 . Handle measures 4 7 8 x 1 1 4 x 3 8 . The blade shape and size reminds me of the Benchmade 950 Osbourne Design Rift Knife, though this knife weighs much more due to the metal handle. Ball-bearing hinge means it opens very smoothly using the thumb studs, with a single flip of the thumb, and the frame-lock works well, holding the blade securely in place. The finger grooves on the handle protect your index finger and, along with the choils on the reverse base of the blade, keep your hand from moving up onto the blade when thrusting. Point-of-balance when opened is about an inch up on the handles away from the blade, meaning this is very much weighted to stay in your hand without falling even when your palm is open all the way. Only one clip position, tip-down closed. For the price, you get a great combination of durability, quality, size, and aesthetics, including the option of three different inlaid scales -- the carbon-fiber scales look best -- though the heavy weight may be a detractor for some people.
