Unlike radios like the less expensive Kenwood TM-V71A, the AT-D578 does not support automatic ID call sign transmission on the control channel as required to legally operate the radio in crossband repeater mode when channel A is a duplex repeater and channel B is a simplex control channel. Radios like the Kenwood provide a transmit ID option off, code, voice and a transmit message call sign that when configured transmits the message regularly in compliance the FCC regulations. Spoke with BridgeComm today and hopefully this feature will be in a firmware update ASAP. Other than that I would rate the AT-D578 as five stars.
